The "L" shaped and the ones you "twist" in never stayed in place. I always had my fingers up my nose trying to re-position the the stud part so they weren't sticking out my nose. Though there is slight pressure when putting the bonez in and taking it out, it didn't hurt and it stays in place. The stone does not stick up and out and there is no fixing the stud inside the nose. I am a 43 year old woman with an 18 gauge piercing that works in a professional environment and these are perfect for me. With the small stones and the fact that I no longer look like I am constantly "picking my nose", I can where these bonez in confidence without any comments from upper management about how "inappropriate" nose piercings might be or being told that this is not "part of the dress code" for work.
