I had been using my IC-SM6 that came with my IC-745 from many years ago. The SM-50 works wonderfully. I had to turn down the mic gain on the radio and even the compression. Also, I adjusted the TX treble higher and the bass lower, since I was getting reports of it sounding a little bassy. All reports so far are that it is very, clean and intelligible, which was my desire.
