You can't bake at 40 degrees Fahrenheit. 230 c would be about 450 f. **Q: What brand of pan is large enough to allow mat to lay totally flat and not curve up so I can use all rows of the mat for macarons?** A: I have Nordicware half sheet pans. The inside dimensions are 17.5 x 12.5. **Q: Can I cut these to make them smaller or will the edges curl/fray?** A: They fit my cookie sheets perfectly. You can see the dark edge in the picture, it doesn't feel different but I would not cut them. **Q: These mats are oven safe to only 230 degrees Fahrenheit?? This is too low, over less than half of most silicone bakeware.** A: I used them to bake cookies at 350 degrees- they worked great.
