Perfect for food prep and storage
Somehow none of the stores near me sell Rubbermaid containers on the sizes I actually use, so Amazon is the source of finding... anything. The 5-cup are the most used in my kitchen, perfect size for leftovers, bringing a salad to work, making a generous portion of pudding, storing pre-cut veggies. The containers arrived in perfect order, enclosed in a plastic bag. The lids fit perfectly and close almost leak proof (I don't recommend these for soups), the plastic is smooth finished, no rough edges.

Missing my containers, please come home
Nice Rubbermaid containers. Mine always seem to go visiting friends and then just move in with them. Wish I could get my brother to to this!! So I found myself with the lid and tub debacle so ordered some more.

Its a tall square not a short wide square. 6.5 cup bowl actually
The images look like a wider but relatively short bowl so I didnt receive what I thought it'd be but it'll work fine. The flimsy cheap rubber maid 5.2 bowls lids don't stack together like these 5.0s do and the bowl isnt 5.0 like it says, its actually 6.5 to the top where the cheap 5.2s are 5.0 to the top. Overall good investment for convince but pricey overall compared to glass meal prep bowls or even large prep containers with multiple compartments

Care of containers
Just the right size for so many cooking storage needs. Washes up nicely in the dishwasher. I have never had any of mine stain. We use these daily and after continuous microwave use the plastic container will begin to show signs of peeling.

Food Storage Advice
Rubbermaid brand is one of the original food storage container makers. The latest version has a lid that can release air inside with a small square black toggle by pushing as directed. While not a vacuum sealing device that can suck out the ambient air, it will be satisfactory otherwise for most refrigerator-stored food. Vacuum sealing with another device when freezing can keep many foods for months or longer. I personally find that labeling using inexpensive removable paper tape with food I.D. and date will simply saving and storing most food for future consumption.
