I had expected a pull cord. I was not aware that pull cords are illegal in California so I got one on eBay and got this grip so I could attach the pull cord. It works! After searching the box stores unsuccessfully for this item, I found this on Amazon. It is very sturdy. I read the reviews about breakage, and I don't think I'll have that problem. It did take two of us to install it, one to hold the hem steady and one person to slide it on. If you try forcing it on as a clip, I could see where it might break, as it is very rigid plastic with no flex to it. It is a 5 star product, reduced to 4 stars due to the price.
