Great torque wrench for the home mechanic
I bought this torque wrench after breaking a small bolt while replacing a strut mount with a cheap, box store, torque wrench. Once you have to remove a bolt that you just broke the head off of, you quickly realize that you get what you pay for. The CDI torque wrench is a quality tool. It came with a calibration certificate and a nice plastic case. The tool itself feels solid and the markings are easy to read. The knurling on the handle gives plenty of grip, even when your hands are covered in grime. I have used it several times since I received it and it works flawlessly. It gives a nice audible and tactile click when you reach the set torque. This is a great tool and is very affordable for the home mechanic. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

The Quality Talks
Before writing my review about this torque wrench I'd start with advice. If you're ever buying precious tools such as measurement tools always ask for the quality that you can trust because miss measuring something would decently lead for failure. I did a lot of search for proper torque wrench to use in car repair and I've found a lot with different prices and different quality as it wasn't easy to come up with correct one. CDI seems to be specialized in torque wrenches and that was my first impression to buy this torque wrench because specialized companies focus on product quality pretty well, the price of this torque wrench wasn't the best and not the worst, $111 is reasonable for its quality. Upon unpacking the shipment I start feeling the great quality of it, the scale is pretty clear and easy to read, adjusting the torque very smooth and lock works very smooth too. The ratcheting mechanism works smooth with no looseness. easy to clean with mirror finish and metallic tough grip for proper handling. I had it on real work for about six months and it still looks like new and works like new, same smoothness of ratcheting mechanism same smoothness of adjusting torque setting and it just clicks where you want it to be. It's made in USA and some inner parts are imported, BUT who cares, the quality talks. and i also bought two different torque ranges. Bottom line; buy it with full confidence if you have cars to maintain 10-100 ft/lb is almost what you may need.

Nice, easy to use and durable torque wrench
Like many shade tree mechanics I have several torque wrenches all with broken plastic handles. This CDI model came with a metal handle/grip that when it gets dropped nothing visibly breaks off. Its well worth the money and based on their calibration looks to be accurate.

Junk. Failed out of the box.
This failed the first time I used it and ruined $40 worth of automotive bolts. Out of the box this torque wrench wouldn't "click"/indicate any torque values with the torque settings in the range of 16-25 ft/lbs.

Good Quality, But Limited Range
This is a very good quality wrench and I highly recommend it if the torque range works for you. Unfortunately, I can't justify the price when a 20-150ft lb wrench is a few dollars more and a lot more useful for automotive use, so I returned it. That said, I'm taking away one start because of the 100ft lb limit, which seems artificially low. However, it's the perfect range for most motor work and tightening lug nuts. My recommendation to ensure you can cover all your ranges from suspension and drive-train all the way to working on delicate internal parts would be the following combo: CDI 1503MFRMH 1/2 inch and CDI 2502MRMH 3/8 inch wrenches. Just use a 3/8 to 1/4 adapter on the 2502 and you'll be set for almost any automotive situation. If you REALLY need less than 30 inch lbs, you might want to substitute the 1501 for the 2502. In my case, the initial combo I mentioned works perfect with both of my cars: Nissan 240SX w/ SR20DET and Acura TSX w/ KA24A2.

Great Value
I bought this to use as a home garage tool to replace a cheap bending beam type torque wrench. I have used it extensively on a car that I am restoring/hot rodding and have found it to be very convenient to use. As some of the reviewers mentioned, if you are not careful of where you grip the tool, you can unlock the barrel and change the setting during operation, which I did a few times until I got used to using the tool. I like the socket locking feature, the ratcheting design and the hard case for storage. This is a quality tool the I expect to have and use for many years.

Better than my older Snap-On
This torque wrench is everything they said it would be. Outstanding quality and precision in everyway. My 3/8 Snap-On torque wrench is in inch-pounds for aviation work and I wanted a quality foot-pound torque wrench. After studying everything out there I selected the CDI and I was not disappointed. Great quality at a very fair price and nicer than my older 3/8 and 1/2 Snap-Ons. It is the first torque wrench I have ever purchased that has come with its calibration results. It says on the box "A Snap-On Company," I think I got Snap-On quality without the Snap-On Price.

Excellent!!!
Purchased this to torque down bolts on my motorcycle. Also started using it for the truck as well, but I'll be purchasing the 30 - 250 ft. lbs. as I need more than 100ft. lbs for the truck. Very well made, and was shipped fast. For the price, you can't go wrong and it's a Snap-on company. It's very easy to use, the locking mechanism to set the torque is well made and sets very easily. Pull down and twist the wrench. It's a little easier to read and set the ft. lbs. vs. the nM because the ft. lbs. are lined up on even numbers, (e.g. 10, 20, 30, etc.) and the nM are on decimals (23.7). The instructions recommend that you don't drop it or you may need to have it recalibrated, so take good care of it.

Excellent quality, better than expected
This is the best torque wrench I have ever owned. I knew as soon as I took it out of the box. No plastic! Everything is very solid, polished, and machined looking. The knurled adjustment handle and all the numbered torque-setting marks are a work of art. There is a dated calibration card that shows the torque tests for a whole range of values. This is one accurate torque wrench! I'm suprised and how much better this torque wrench is compared to any I have ever seen in a big-box retail store. Well worth it. It looks like it will last generations.

excellent quality, used it even on wheel lugs. Small scratches on the top as described but almost invisible.

Returned right away
Received item with the spring not backed out. Tried to test it for 15 and 20ft/lbs and just kept over torquing. Did the same test with my cheap Canadian tire wrench and clicked at the desired torque settings. Really disappointed in CDI especially being a subsidiary of Snap-on. Not sure if this is being sold from a third party or what but you should test this before damaging your vehicle.

Great addition to a tool box
I have tried other, less expensive, and they never work as advertised. This one comes complete with high quality and craftsmanship at a reasonable price. As time goes on I will purchase more of these.
