## Description

Surface tackiness is key when you're stacking up layers of fiberglass and resin fast for a build or repair and don’t want the layers to cure yet. TotalBoat Polyester Laminating Resin stays tacky, allows the layers to form strong bonds and won’t harden up on you in the middle of your project. This economical, marine-grade fiberglass resin doesn’t contain wax, so it won’t cure in direct contact with air. It can be applied to prepared fiberglass, wood, and metal, so it’s perfect for projects like a spray-up in a mold, a hand layup on a boat, or DIY fiberglass repair on your boat hull, surfboard, car body, motorcycle, RV or bathtub. DIY fiberglass laminating resin has a viscosity ideal for wetting out fiberglass mat, fiberglass cloth and carbon fiber, and it won’t sag - even on vertical surfaces. It also minimizes pattern print-through on gelcoat finishes, making this resin ideal for your fiberglass or gelcoat repair kit. TotalBoat Laminating Resin is easy to use but requires MEKP catalyst (included) to work properly. Just add catalyst, stir thoroughly, and use immediately. To control working time, you can adjust the amount of MEKP hardener. For example, at 70°F, for a working time of 20 minutes or more, add 1 teaspoon of MEKP to 1 quart of polyester resin; for a working time of 15-20 minutes, add 2 teaspoons of MEKP to 1 quart of resin; for a working time of 10 minutes, add 3 teaspoons of MEKP to 1 quart of resin. When you’re ready for it to cure, apply a final coat of TotalBoat Polyester Finishing Resin for a hard, tack-free finish ready to sand, paint, or gelcoat. Review: I use this product to seal my outdoor wood deck instead of the other low-quality products. - This is a super thick resin that is supposed to coat boats. Boat decks, sides, whatever. I don't have a boat and bought it to seal my very old wooden deck. The cheaper sealers that one usually buys don't last two weeks, but this resin is like a liquid plastic. The value for the money is excellent because without it I would have to replace the deck. So it's a good buy. It is clear so the natural color of wood is enhanced. This is a terrific product. It's easy to use, except you'll need a bucket to pour a small amount in, then put the catalyst in just a squirt or two, then paint it on REAL quick. If you wait it turns into a hard, clear plastic. Use 2 pairs of rubber gloves, a brush and bucket you can throw away and only use outside. The smell is super strong, not great. You must work quickly with this and in very small patches, a cup at a time, it hardens so quickly. I love the protection it is providing. It might turn a little whitish now and again. However, my old wood deck is protected and looks great. That's my experience.

**Q: What is the workable time for this product?**
A: Hello, the gel time depends on the temperature during the time your using it and how much hardener you use.  At 70 degrees F, one teaspoon of hardener per quart of resin will give you about 20 minutes to Gel time, 2 teaspoons will give 15-20 minutes and 3 teaspoons will give about 10 minutes. Thank you.

A: I used for hull repair and did not use infusion.
