It was heavier than expected but this gives it stability in use and ensures that when used with a larger tablet in its slot the combo does not tend to tip. The keys themselves are positive and very clear to read being white-on-black rather than the less readable grey-on-black adopted by so many keyboard manufacturers. The keyboard came pretty well fully charged and paired easily with my Fire tablet. Despite a few stutters which Bluetooth invariably makes, the keyboard has worked flawlessly and makes entry of text so much quicker than using the on-tablet keypad.
