I have a vag com controller so I can clear the light to reset the system with that, but it means I have to get the laptop out to the garage to do it. I bought this scanner so I could do it quickly and easily and that is exactly what I got. It works perfectly and is easy to use. I would do it again in a heartbeat given the low price. It reads the CAN BUS system in my 2004 Volkswagen passat and can even read and clear airbag module codes. I use this scanner quite frequently with my car and it hasn't let me down yet. I also use a lemur blue driver Obd2 scanner. Lemur provides detailed repair reports and part suggestions but takes about 5 minutes to scan. This takes about 15 seconds and does more because it can interface with CAN BUS and OBD 2 protocols for safely 1/5th the price or my Lemur scanner.
