We needed a new mallet to use when setting up our campsite. We use two tents and this mallet will make set up so much easier. It even has a stake remover to help in taking down the tents. It is made well and will work great.

Very good for pounding in tent stakes. Light in weight. The eye hook at the bottom of the handle bends easily, but it’s replaceable. I simply removed the hook after it deformed, went to my local ‘big box’ and found a larger steel replacement. I had to drill the eye hook hole slightly larger to accommodate the new eye hook. After this easy modification it’s holding up just fine.

Does eactly what it's supposed to. Having the hook on your mallet makes removing stakes from the ground so so easy. It doesn't take up too much space in my car, is the right weight for the job, is easy to hold. I don't think you'll be dissapointed.

In my years of camping, I have managed to loose every single mallet I’ve purchased. Somehow someway they disappear from my big tote and I have to stomp the metal pegs in with my unpractical crocs and it’s a bummer for all. I purchased this mallet with the intent to love and cherish and never lose it, and so far it’s going well, it is a mallet, it works like a mallet, it’s a good size to it can tuck right into my tent bag so I will never loose it, and the hook at the end makes it easy to pull the metal pegs out of the ground.

Cheaper than any rubber mallet in stores. I've read some rough reviews of this. I think this mallet is supposed to be used just for Coleman brand stakes. Not the heavy duty sharp ended stakes. Coleman stakes are usually a small rod that has a bent end. The first trip I took it on I had to bang the bent ended stakes into rocky soil and it did a very good job (compared to random rocks I've used on site because I kept forgetting to grab the home metal hammer) I know that people have also been straightening out the hook. Considering it's your avarage hook from a hardware store I don't recommend pulling the big heavy duty stakes either. *Pull the heavy duty stakes with the hook of another one.. I feel like that's a common sense thing
