The spool of labels was rolled in reverse! I'm not just talking about how the unit was threaded - the roll of labels actually had to be rewound, with what had been the leader end going on the spool core first. As received, they would not separate as they were pulled from the dispenser, because the clear tail was ahead of the white writing area. They need to be the other way around. Can't understand how they could be shipped this way. Someone would have had to go to the effort of rewinding the labels the wrong way.Once that was corrected, the labels dispense correctly and are great for labeling network, audio and video cables. I like them better than tags or flags that stick out. In a crowded area like at a switch, these are easier to read. I suggest attaching them a little way from the plug. The most difficult part of this was finding a way to mark them. I settled on this type of marker that is wrapped around the cable. The next step was trying to find one what had a decent area to write on and the ink would dry. Every brand I tried (there were 6 of them) took forever to have the ink dry because the writing area was slick or non-porous. This one finally hit the jackpot.
