I did mix the soil they provided with an organic indoor mix I had, also I put these in front of my large bay window that gets lots of sun, and I usedSUPERNIGHT Horticulture E27 5W LED Plant Grow light on them approx 15 hours per day, I do believe those factors really helped in how quickly these germinated and started to grow. I am really happy with the product, it's become my daily hobby to come home and check on the "baby herbs" and I FINALLY feel like I have even the slightest of a green thumb (I used to even kill succulents, it was THAT bad) so these were a good starter set to get me from the "plant killer" to the plant WINNER! haha. I would absolutely buy another one of these kits, I am thinking about getting the salsa one next. Basil, sage, and parsley still growing strong. This is an egg carton, seeds, and some worthless soil.
