Want to run a combat scenario where the party gets ambushed by a bunch of ogres? This monster box is for you! Now, I'm running D&D 5E games, not Pathfinder, but it doesn't matter. The monsters have a good design and can be used for most monsters in the 5E Monster Manual. There are no dragons, but there are plenty of ratfolk, kobolds, lizardfold, vampires, etc. Great for starting a monster "mini" collection. It's very cost effective for a great product.The paper material used for the monsters is nice and thick. I have no fear of accidental bending. The monsters fit inside the bases easily, and while the bases are not loose, it's also very easy to change the monsters in the bases as you need to. There are different sized bases for different sized monsters, so they will take up the appropriate amount of 1" grid for scale. I do plan on buying more of the Pathfinder Pawns when I need more specialized monsters. The only word of warning I have is to be careful when punching the monster out of the grid they come on. I may have gotten careless and ended up ripping the design on one of my monsters. If you like the other boxes of Pathfinder Pawns but found yourself thinking "I wish they gave me more than 4 goblins and 2 orcs", then this box is absolutely for you.Of the standard "mook-type" monsters, this box contains over a dozen of every type. Kobolds, Goblins, Orcs, Hobgoblins, Frost Giants, Fire Giants, Trolls, Ratfolk, Drow, Deurgar, Ogres, Bugbears, and the like. There are 4-8 variations of each type of monster, allowing for wonderfully distinct pawns of a similar race on the map at any given time. No need to remind your players that *these* goblins have shortbows while *these* goblins are throwing alchemist's fire. They can see it on the tokens.I can finally attack my party with that Hobgoblin assault force that I've been dreaming up without pulling the particularly brutish NPC Codex pawns and saying "These are hobgoblins, use your imagination". What about that conflict between a tribe of Kobolds and a faction of Goblins? Now you can get your PCs involved and still visually denote which monsters are which! It's so great.As always, the art is absolutely gorgeous on these pawns, and the box and cardboard are the same ultra-high quality. Word of advice: this box does focus on common, humanoid monsters.
