Is this also prone to that ??** A: Mine didn’t go read only, but was completely undetected after a few months of use. **Q: The blurb says it includes sandisk secureaccess password protection. if i format the drive to ntfc will the password protection software be lost?** A: Yes I am sure it will. It did for me. Formatting wipes the slate clean. You could perhaps copy the software before formatting and then reload afterwords.
