In the book, the raccoon Lucy has to find her way home with the help of an owl. The illustrations of the story from Lucy's view point are interspersed with illustrations from the owl's viewpoint (maps of the city with directions showing the next steps Lucy should follow). These maps from the owl's perspective are my daughter's favorite part. She loves to look at them and predict what the owl is going to say. As a science educator, I am also aware of the importance of children developing spatial reasoning for later success in STEM topics. So it's an added bonus that this book naturally engages kids in thinking about directions, maps, and that your location changes what you can see. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My 4.5-year-old son, "I don't like it. I LOVE it!" *by D***. on Reviewed in the United States on 29 September 2015* After we got this book I asked my 4.5 son if he liked it. He told me "I don't like it. I LOVE it." I asked him why and he told me "Because Lucy got lost but then owl helped her find her way home. And she got home right at her bedtime." As a parent I like it because it's a great jumping off point to talk to children about maps, the 5 senses, and the importance of listening (so they don't get lost in the first place!). Also, the illustrations are great!
