It has IRIG printed on the adapter and included instructions from IK Multimedia, although it was in a zip bag not a retail box. I'm so pleased with the result that I instantly bought another.If you only need a single mono input this is way easier and convenient vs using a external USB interface. I use the adapter with my Moog synth, using the ipad as an FX processor and CV source. The IRIG mono input handles line-level signals well. You need to use it with an app like AUM that can control the input gain. It also passes the headphone output through, so I can still sent CV signals to my Moog.
