Momoi Diamond Braid Generation III Hollow Core 3000yards

I've tried pretty much every hollow core there is over the years. Most of the 16 strand products are very good. Not a fan of the PowerPro or the Seaguar but the others are very good. This line is just as good as any others and it's substantially less expensive. It opens up very well so working with it is easy. 600 yards for $75 is just a world's difference. I'll put 500 yards on an Avet LX Raptor and use 100 yards for making wind on leaders. Too good of a line and a price to go elsewhere. Wish they'd make it in a 40lb and down. Right now I use Toro Tamer in the 40lb and under and it's downright awesome having such light hollow core. Small West Coast firm but damned if their product isn't incredible as well.

I wouldn't use Diamond Gen3 Hollow Core again if they were giving it away, it's not worth losing a fish. The line was coming off the spool already "burned" due to uneven spool pressure during manufacturing. (it was shockingly bad) Momoi clearly has laughable quality control. After my third splice of bad line , stripped the reels and tossed this garbage. I could live with the inconstant diameter, but not a line that comes compromised. Breakage at the "burned" areas was 55-70# on 100# rated.

Great strong Hollowcore braid however diamond made a mistake in manufacturing and gave me 1686 yards vs the 1500 yards it was supposed to come with and we confirmed with line counter so bang for your buck honestly I would recommend!

Perfect for fishing saltwater fishing

I used this to back my saltwater fly reels as 20 lb dacron breaks at 11 lbs and 30 breaks around 18! 20 and 30 lb backing was devised for trout and not saltwater gamefish. I use 20 lb leader for stripers and want my backing to be stronger than the fly line and leader. I used 60 lb hollow core and it not only out performs dacron, it also wont cut your hands like 4 or 8 strand braid or gel spun. Note that I do not splice. I tie 6 turn (triple) surgeons knot loops for looped line or a simple albright for a line without loops. No need to splice for me. For fly backing, I see no benefit to splicing.
