## Description

2009 release, the most comprehensive, multi-label single CD collection covering the acclaimed careers of Mott The Hoople and mainman Ian Hunter. The Golden Age 1969-1997 is a must for fans of hard-edged Rock 'N' Roll and outrageous Glam-Rock. All their greatest songs are here on this exhilarating collection: the rampaging 'Rock and Roll Queen', the Stonesy swagger of 'Walkin' with a Mountain', the enduring glitter kids' anthem and their biggest hit from 1972 'All the Young Dudes', written and produced by David Bowie, 'Honaloochie Boogie', 'All the Way From Memphis', 'Roll Away the Stone', 'The Golden Age Of Rock 'N' Roll', 'Saturday Gigs', the rare US single version of 'One of the Boys' and more.

Just..." Another" Night On The Other Side Of...What .

There was a review I once read which prefaced itself by proclaiming "Ripoff Alert!" I won't repeat that here (I mean, like, what DO you call a "redundant redundancy?" Yeah, "Inquiring minds, etc..." OK: there is absolutely nothing new here save that ethereal last track, "Michael Picasso," which, to the best of my knowledge, has only been available stateside as an expensive import. A GREAT song, but it looks like Ian (or whoever "controls," "has possession of," whatever) IH's stuff, is kinda guilty of "recycling." Sigh...maybe Pete Townsend might have been right "all those years ago" when he wrote, "Rock is dead...." Maybe, like Keef said, "@&$ the 'rock,' gimme the 'ROLL!"
