After inserting batteries into the receiver unit (batteries already inserted in transmitters), pairing the 2 transmitters was as simple as pressing a button. I fastened the Red button transmitter (plays alert tones) in the bathroom with double foam tape (not included), while the Blue transmitter (plays musical tones) stays with my mom on its lanyard. There is a choice of both alert tones and musical jingles to choose from for the applicable transmitter. The receiver also has a high and low volume setting for either the alerts or jingles depending on your needs. My dad can carry the receiver outside with him when working in his shed or leave it on a side table while watching TV. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works really well (Basement to first & second floors) *by K***R on Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2016* Works really well and was exactly what we needed for my elderly mother. It does look a bit cheap but works great. Took a couple of read-throughs of the directions to get the signals down, but once we figured that out - we were ready to roll. Signal buttons really large and easy for my mother to find, see and press. We set different tones and put one buzzer in her living room and bathroom. Based on the tones we know if she needs assistance in her living room area or in the bathroom. Lights quit working within a day. We mounted the receiver/speaker in the hall so that elderly mother-in-law could call for help easily. We can hear it well throughout the house. Even through nearby closed door. The lights aren't important for us, so I didn't return it. It comes with two button pendants. One for normal call and one for emergency. They are each assigned their own sounds, so it's easy to know which one has been pressed.
