Will this work with a retractable leash?

I highly advise against it. If your dog got a running start and came to a sudden halt at the end of the line either by you locking the brake on the retractable or by him running out of line, it would snap his head around. There would be a great likelihood of doing damage to the neck.

What size is best for a cane Corso?

Size 5 fit my male Great Dane at 1yr old (about 130lbs then and pretty lean). I only used it for a couple months before we realized we needed a prong collar for walks, so I can't say whether it would still fit him now -- 155lbs fully developed, well-muscled. Depending on your Cane Corso's age I'd probably go with size 5 as they are really muscular, really large dogs. Even if they are young, they'd probably outgrow a size 4 quickly.

I have a year old lab who is a monster on walks, I have not found a harness that works yet, will this help??

It just might. My 60 pound coon hound , who is just about to turn a year old, is doing very well with it.
