Looks huge!** A: Without going out to measure, it is not more than three feet tall. The picture is deceiving, but it works very well. Only today I removed 23 gal of compost for my potato beds. It is amazing how much garden waste, kitchen waster,coffee grinds and tea bags it composts. Run the hose in about once a week . **Q: Is this container bear proof?** A: NOTHING is bear proof! Seriously, I had to duct tape the bottom vents because small animals were chewing through the plastic and scattering composted vegetables all around. I wouldn't but this item again but it's ok now with the duct tape. You'd do better with a less expensive model that doesn't have those ground level vents. **Q: How is this different then cutting the bottom out of a garbage can and cutting some holes for ventilation?** A: There are groups of slots around the composter for ventilation and a door at the bottom to access compost. **Q: Do you need composter starter to get a good compost going?** A: I did at first but not sure if necessary. Look on line as about a hundred things you can put in composter and mine has worked well. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great quality compost bin *by E***N on April 9, 2021* Bought this to replace a cheap, click together, piece of junk that lost its lid within weeks of setting it up and wouldn't keep its shape. This EnviroWorld bin is much sturdier and I like the round shape for more efficient stirring of the compost. The lid locks in place, which is a huge improvement over the last one we had, and the hatch at the bottom for removing compost as also sturdy and holds in place well. Highly recommend this model. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Big and easy to assemble *by M***R on July 8, 2023* I love these style of composters compared to the newer ones, as they are a true easy put together and functioning composter. It is very lightweight, but it will take some space as it is pretty big.As others have said, make sure you have two hands available to open the top when you are trying to put in anything into the composter, as it will require both hands to line up the grooves to open and close the lid. Otherwise this is a great product, I definitely would buy it again ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Basic Composting Option *by S***T on January 23, 2022* We liked the simplicity of the design, no joints to come apart (other than the door possibly) when the compost starts putting pressure on the walls. Easy to open and add material, and remove compost through the door or the top. We purchased two, one for the raw material, the second for "finishing" the compost, and they have functioned as expected, putting out usable compost in a matter of a few weeks. The previous composter we had worked well but came apart at the joints and was unrepairable. These should last a good long while.
