Review: Awesome, beefy, loud.a - I’m enjoying it, my toddler more so, been wanting to get him an automatic nerf gun with a smaller ammo count for awhile. Being a nerd dad, my nerf guns have aftermarket springs and it’s hard for my son to load them. This is one beefy gun, with all 6 AA batteries in I wouldn’t be surprised if it weighed 5lbs, maybe more. Using it requires pressing 2 separate triggers; one to spool it up like a mini gun, the 2nd to fire. We’ve run in to a few instances where the rotating assembling isn’t lined up with the barrel and the dart won’t fire so you just have to let it go around 1 or 2 seconds more and try to fire again. Darts are strong and stiff, definitely sting a bit more than standard elite darts, but it’s a wash on this gun because the spread pattern is all over the place. You’d be very hard pressed to put 2 darts in to the same place. For parents thinking about getting this one for the kids it’s a fun weapon, definitely has that Hellboy gun this going on. Last thing I’ll say, it’s loud. Holy shit it’s loud, like “how is something that size able to make noise like that?”. I’ve never flown model airplanes that use jet engines, but I have to imagine the sound is close to that. So buyer beware if noise is a concern.
Review: DOES NOT JAM IF OPERATED CORRECTLY - By now you likely read the bad reviews. Jams jams jams etc. No it doesn’t! You may comfortably purchase this gun. The reviewers just don’t know how the gun operates so they don’t know “how” to operate it. Listen closely. JUST HOLD DOWN THE MOTOR SWITCH AT ALL TIMES WHILE SHOOTING AND EVEN IN BETWEEN RAPID SHOTS. Don’t press it only when pressing the shoot trigger because you will not give the motor enough time to start its spin it needs to actually launch the bullet. It has to be in motion before you press the trigger. The motor trigger is intended to be the “safety” that must be pressed prior to the shooting trigger. This is very realistic to hand guns and honestly hats off to Nerf for making this thing very life like on that point. It’s a pretty genius design. If you simply just press the shoot trigger without having the motor trigger (aka the safety) pressed then you will notice you can’t fire the gun at all. Basically just like a real gun. Now.. If your kid or who ever is operating messes up and presses the shoot trigger and only then at the same time presses the motor trigger , the gun will jam. In theory yes the safety is pressed down and disengaged. And yes the shoot trigger can now be pulled. But you have Not given enough time for the motor to reach its spin level it needs to launch the bullet. In fact, You will know it’s jammed because the magazine spinner where you load the bullets Into will lock up on you. (Easy fix to that in a moment.) Explanation of the gun: the motor actually has two sets of spinners inside that have to get into motion so they can launch the bullet as you press the shoot trigger which in turn is designed to actually chamber the bullet. The moment the bullet is chambered by the squeezing the shoot trigger the spinning motor grabs the bullet and launches that sucker at high speed. There is one wheel at the top and one wheel at the bottom and the bullet once chambered in between has no choice but to launch. The speed of the bullet won’t bruise anyone but you will know you got hit, that’s for sure. It’s a powerful little sucker, I don’t think anyone disagrees on that. If your kid jams the gun by not properly having the motor spinning prior to shooting, explain to them that they need to pop open the chamber. It is the orange square on the side of the gun barrel. Doing this will initiate a second safety which will not allow the motor to run even if you press it so don’t be concerned. Safety reasons I’m sure. Once it’s opened you will see the orange end of the bullet (the bullet point) protruding out slightly. the motor wasn’t properly being held down while the shoot trigger chambered the bullet so it was not able to launch it and left it in a limbo state. Simply stick your finger inside and press the bullet outwards back into the rotating spinner where you load the bullets. You will know it was done right because the revolving wheel (bullet magazine) will rotate now when you flick it with your finger. Heck, You can play Russian roulette with it if you like. Flick it hard enough and it will spin round and round. The point is if it rotates then you did it right. If you jam it and do not see the bullet inside sticking out it means that you kept trying to force the shooting trigger a few more times after jamming it. Look at the revolving wheel magazine and see which of the bullets is stuck further inside its hole than the others. That’s your jammed bullet. Remove it with tweezers or something. Reload it if it isn’t badly bent. After either scenario, The gun is Unjammed. When done, simply close the side orange chamber square and you’re ready to Rock. The first scenario fix takes two seconds. The second one depends on where you left those tweezers you’ve been looking for. A simple trick to ensure that you don’t jam the gun in the first place is tell your kid to simply hold the handle/grip firmly with 4 fingers before shooting. Save the pointer finger for the shooting trigger. Your grip is correct when you hear the motor running. The index finger should be the one firmly pressing the motor trigger if they are gripping it like they should and if I got the names of my fingers correct to begin with. In any case It will make a pretty intimidating sound while the motor is running. (A little too loud?? Yeah I agree. But small price to pay for a long distance nerf.) Then, with the free pointer finger just fire away. Don’t hold down the shoot trigger either. It’s not a machine gun. Just pop pop pop on the trigger like a regular semi auto revolver. This explanation should also work for all nerf semi autos due to the fact that they all operate the same way. Nerf owes me for this explanation! I will gladly accept more ultra Darts as repayment :) Enjoy

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does it use double a or triple A batteries?**
A: It uses 6 double A batteries.

**Q: Does it hurt 😢**
A: Yes! It shoots pretty hard even across the room. You can also turn off the automation and just shoot. And that doesn’t hurt.

**Q: Anyone have problems with the bullets breaking? I bought this for my son for Christmas and 3 of the 6 bullets have shot out broken!**
A: We had the exact same thing happen. I contacted Nerf directly and they ended up sending out a box of 20 darts. They still break super easy though. If you have the time and patience, you can glue the head back on but it’s kind of a PITA.

**Q: So it just shoots no need to pump it ?**
A: Yes. It is battery operated.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does not fire
*by B***S on October 4, 2022*

I purchased this model for the revolver look however it's not firing to satisfaction. Equipped the gun with fresh batteries and loaded the barrel with the provided darts. Held down the motor/safety button and allowed the motors to spin up (some what loud) then I proceeded to pull the trigger... Nothing. Pulled the trigger again and 2 darts came out. Pulled a third time and nothing. I point the gun downwards and a dart just slides out. Fourth pull a day finally flys out and barely goes 3ft. The same happen when the fifth shot and the final shot stayed in the barrel. My initial thought was the darts are creating too much friction or the motor is weak. Either way I'm not sure what to do with this other then return it or keep it to repaint for cosplay Update: Ended up keeping the unit after discovering the batteries where actual DOA from the package. The gun is still loud so don't expect any sneak attacks. The accuracy is still "OK" and the handle is in the small side imo
