I do find that they have a unique and valuable feature that can only be found in these and similar products: I can chop a bunch of stuff and then curl the mat to take the chopped stuff to the pot without having spill-over. They are my go to choice for chopping. I don't like the printing in the corners are coming off and are coming in contact with the food. Don't know if this ink is safe or not. I like that they are thicker than most of the mats I have purchased. They stand up well to the knife cutting but not indestructible, so be careful. I use several at a time when I am cooking my meals because they are so handy. I am still on the fence about the waffle backing that keeps them from slipping as easily. I liked that I could use a matt and turn it over immediately to use for something else, with these you can't do that.
