Perfect for my short mom, and worth taking a chance on this one.
I’ve seen multiple reviews that complained of receiving a cane with missing parts, or one that wobbles and doesn’t sit level. The one I ordered, thankfully, came in perfect condition. Got it for my mom, and she loves it. She is only 4’11” and I was concerned it would be difficult to find one that would work for her height, but this is perfect, set at the lowest level. We bought another one very similar to this one from a big name store (different brand), but it was black, and it was the only one of all the ones on the shelf that didn’t wobble (legs did not sit level), so I think that is a problem common to this design, not just this brand. Anyway, my mom really wanted a pretty cane, so we got this one. Now she keeps the black one upstairs, and uses this pink one downstairs and outside (she uses a chair lift on the stairs, so this way she does not have to carry the cane upstairs and downstairs all the time). I love this design because it is free-standing, so it won’t fall over and it provides greater stability for the user, and the handle design works great for small hands (unlike the T-style handles). Although some people have had trouble with the condition of the canes they received, we did not, and if you get one in good condition, you will be very pleased. Definitely worth taking a chance on this one! If you get one that is not perfect, simply return it and order a replacement!

This cane is changing my life
Okay... Can I just tell you how freaking thrilled I am with this cane!! I've been super self conscious about the fact that I'm 33 and now use a cane as a daily part of my life and the only one I was able to get from my insurance was this silver metallic one that just SCREAMS medical/hospital equipment. I've had a lot of difficulties because I'm 5'8" and 275 pounds.... And it just seems like none of the other canes support my height and weight. This cane is light weight and easy to maneuver. It's extremely sturdy and I went with the small base, which I'm extremely grateful I did because it's pretty big for a small. However, don't be discouraged about this, because it makes it even sturdier than my insurance bought cane. The quad tips aren't just made of soft rubber, they are firm and durable - which if you are a daily cane user, you know that I speak the truth when I say that worn out quad tips are the bane of my existence. What I love the most though, is the color. It's a dusty rose pink with a black matte base and I really just feel so happy using it and that I'm making it more of a required accessory rather than the thing that screams, hey, I'm disabled. And for the price, I am amazed at the quality. I will definitely be a lifelong Hugo customer

It passed the test with my stubborn father-in-law!
My elderly FIL has had a basic cane forever and we were worried because his mobility and balance are going downhill fast. It just wasn’t safe anymore for his needs. I bought him this quad cane and he’s pretty stubborn about change so I wondered if he’d actually use it. After a few days of it just sitting there he tried it out and uses it every time he walks now. He really likes the ergonomic handle and that it stands on its own. He has even managed to attach his catheter bag to it so he has less burden when getting around. The only thing to note is when switching from a basic pole cane to a quad bottom, there is a bit of a chance to trip on the legs if you’re not used to it or if going up or down stairs. Note that all four legs need to be on the stairs for safety. I just told him to be mindful that he doesn’t trip on the extra legs and he’s doing really well with it. It’s been a month and no issues!

Looks Like an Accessory Instead of a Medical Device
I bought this quad cane for my elderly mother, to replace a standard cane she was using, and which had not provided any stability. This quad cane by Hugo is very pretty and she liked it, but basically refused to use it, because she claimed it was too heavy and hurt her shoulder. We went back and forth over this until I finally insisted she switch over to this quad cane. Other canes I looked at were heavier by quite a bit! This one is under a pound, I think. I couldn’t find any others that were lighter in weight. Long story short: my mother is now using this cane regularly (and I hope exclusively) as she needed the convenience of a cane that stands right where you put it and doesn’t fall over. She has gotten use to the weight and feel of it. The base is somewhat “tippy” and doesn’t stand flat, but the feet could be adjusted I think. That’s the only negative I can report on. Otherwise a great product and the lovely color helped my mother accept using it (that and telling her she HAD TO... Lol.) Love the handle grip—it’s like soft silicone and fits the hands very comfortably. I would recommend this quad cane.

nice cane
I was already having balance problems due to a foot surgery when I had a stroke that affected the other side of my body. I determined that a quad cane would be the best for me as I was ready to transition from a walker, my physical therapist agreed. Honestly I chose this cane, the rose one, mainly because it could be delivered next day at that time. I liked it so much that I purchased the black one later when I returned to work so I could keep one there. They are both very stable and stand well on their own, no rattles or wobbles. The grips are great and fit my hand perfectly. I am 5'10" and they are adjusted a little higher than recommended, but that is what is comfortable for me. So as you can see in the photo it can accommodate people who are a little over 6 foot and those just over 5 foot. I personally have not noticed the weight of the cane but the base did take a bit of getting used to, at first I would occasionally step on the tip at the rear corner. The only issue I have had with either cane is that the base of the black one is a couple of degrees off of square but this has not affected usability at all. I cannot attest to the 300# weight limit but there have been occasions when the canes have primarily supported my 205 pounds and kept me from falling when I have lost my balance.

very stable
First i want to address some of what I have read in other reviews. The base is made of welded metal. It is extremely sturdy. The feet are offset. If you put it together backwards it is less stable. But the pole attached to the bottom is reversible (I didn't realize that at first, my PT person fixed it) Just push the button in and turn it. The straight legs go next to your body. The offset legs point outward. It is extremely light weight. It stands on its own. If you can walk fast, you can use just the back legs and it is stable and fast to use. It does take a little practice to get used to, especially if (like me) you are going from a single point cane to this. It adjusts easily. But you have to tighten down the screw at the bottom or it will wiggle. All in al I love mine. I highly recommend it for anybody who needs a stable cane.

Excellent cane, Hugo is great product
I love Hugo products. They are well made, sturdy, and properly engineered. This cane is no exception. Listed weight capacity is 300 lb. but it seems sturdy enough for higher. What I love about it: — soft molded handle — wrist strap — ring wrist strap hangs on big enough to hang keys, coin purse or flashlight — very adjustable for height — dusty rose color — sturdy 4 prong design — height lock What I don’t love: — weight. 2 lbs. I am big and tall, not frail, yet using this for an hour at a time would be too much. However, since my plan is to use it only where my walker can’t go, it will be ok. I rigged it up to carry on my walker for when I need to use steps or otherwise can’t fit or use my walker. I was concerned a lighter folding one would not be stable enough for my weight. I definitely would recommend, except for a frail or weak person for whom the 2 lb weight is too much.

What’s the reason for wanting a quad cane and is it your first
This product for me was not very functional or safe. I was already used to a single cane for quite awhile so trying to find it more functional and useful was not easy and while the cost Dana’s and the safety it may provide for some. well that person wasn’t me. It made me feel less safe and not easy to move. Now I’m just 7 weeks post op from a back surgery and I am so all about getting back into the swing of things as fast as I can. I’m still doing home health for a few more weeks I’m doing pretty well… Please make sure it will be effective for your recovery. It will work and be good for some while others may not find it as useful. Keep in mind this time it may not work but I’m keeping mine so if I need it down the road I have it. All in all I think it’s a win win

Stylish and sturdy, worth it!
I bought three of these as a gift for a senior and we both love the product. I just wish there were extra feet that could be sold with it.
