Review: Punches above its weight in price! - 5 Stars on the quality for the price. To get better quality, one has to spend much more money. No news there, I am sure. For me, as a Western hunter only every few years, this is the maximum I want to spend on a spotting scope. That said, I am extremely pleased with the clarity of the scope on whitetails at about 1300 yards here in Northeast PA. I can easily judge antler size out to a mile, This is an excellent scope for the price and it comes with a great warranty.

Overall imagae resolution in low light is clear and keeps you on the glass a tiny bit longer in those crucial times. The eye piece is comfortable when you find the sweet spot. Zoom and focus adjustment are so easy to use allowing a single hand operation.

A: Optics manufacturers branded tripods are usually overpriced, you are better of with photo tripod and head.

**Q: Can this be used to view planets in the night sky?**
A: Probably want more magnification!

A: Depends if you are shooting painted steel. Yes if you are. If you are shooting paper, you probably need more magnification!

Vortex is the only optics company I use. They are an awsome company that stands behind their products and supports you when you have an issue. I love the Viper and Razor lines, but I will say that I went with a Crossfire spotter after running all of the different lines next to each other. The brightness and quality of this is great (as is all of the lines, but the 3x price was just not enough to stay so far up the Vortex foodchain)
