Useful information for IBS sufferers.
This book contains lots of useful information for IBS sufferers. I haven't actually used any of the recipes yet, but they look like they will work well and be a healthy choice for people with this condition.

Book for IBS Sufferers
Book arrived early. So glad I purchased this book as it gives the health benefits of each ingredient, and the recipes are simple, inexpensive and quick to make. I made one of the puddings which was really delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Good overview
Good overview and I liked most of the recipes. A big flaw, to me, was the lack of advice on a systematic reintroduction programme. I think this is as important as the diet itself and needed a chapter rather than the brief paragraph given.

An Indispensable Cookbook for those With Gastrointestinal Conditions
As someone who suffers from both IBS and Crohns Disease, with both having an impact on my digestive health, I was eager to pick this up; anything that can ease the symptoms is worth a try to me. Dr Rachel Pauls is an expert in IBS and also has the condition herself and has found that a low-FODMAP, (Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides and Polyols), diet is more effective in treating IBS symptoms than costly medications. Most people with digestive conditions will already know and understand what FODMAP is; I know my doctor told me about it years ago during a consultation and even gave me a list of the foods and food groups to avoid and I must admit, for a while, I ignored it. For those who don't know FODMAPs are foods that trigger Gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms, such as cramping and bloating, and should be purged from your diet as much as possible if you suffer from GI conditions. This is a superb cookbook. The first 31 pages are dedicated to explaining exactly what IBS is, what FODMAP is and a four-week plan is set out for you to follow if you wish. It's split into eight chapters: Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and the IBS Solution; Easy Breakfasts For Home or on the Road; Simple Starters and Sides; Healthy Fish and Shellfish; Delicious Meat and Poultry; Superfood Vegan and Vegetarian Meals; Mouthwatering Snacks and Treats; and Amazing Stocks, Sauces, Dressings and Dips. Each recipe is easy to follow and having tried some of them I can attest that they are very tasty. They are set out well and the ingredients are those you can find at the supermarket or in your cupboard. The photographs complement the recipes beautifully and give you an idea of how the finished product should look. This is an excellent cookbook which is an indispensable source of help for those with GI issues. Good intro to IBS
A good introduction to what IBS is, how to live with it, recipes, and even shopping lists and meal plans. I donโt have IBS myself, but Iโve had problems with my stomach until I changed my diet. It was interesting to read the short, but very informative information about IBS. I think this will be an important book, and since more and more people realize they have IBS, its great to get more information about it, as well as yummy recipes. It is clear that you can still eat good tasting, basic food, you just need to put a bit of thought into it. I will definitely try many of the vegan recipes, and I bet several will make it to my regular recipe list. FODMAP might be the next โbig thingโ in restaurants and dietary needs, so itโs good to know some recipes, and be ready, when people start telling you they have IBS when you ask them over for dinner. Really lovely pictures of all the food!

Interesting to read and some of the recipes are really good and different. Book was in good condition when arrived and perfectly packed.

Excellent!
I cannot recommend this book by Dr. Pauls highly enough. I purchased it when my doctor recommended I try a low fodmap diet. I was feeling totally overwhelmed and didnโt know where to start, and this book helped me understand the process and provided a huge variety of delicious, easy to prepare meals. I feel so much better on the low fodmap diet and I donโt feel at all deprived, because the recipes are so good.

Best Cookbook for FODMAP!
When my GI doc first recommended FODMAP, but I couldn't get an appt with the nutritionist for over 3 months, so I went to the library and took home a bunch of FODMAP cookbooks. It was my great good fortune that this was among them. The recipes are DELICIOUS - some better than anything I've ever had in that category - beautifully seasoned, easy to prepare, not too many ingredients. The author is not only a talented science writer - good at explaining FODMAP concepts - she's a food wizard and one hell of a chef!! The cookbook includes lots of basic sauces you can build many dishes around....anyway: I bought my ow copy, am LOVING the food, and can't believe it's a 'diet'.

Easy to understand the IBS problem and how to deal with it and eat well.
I loved the beginning of the book because it is so comprehensive in describing the IBS syndrome. I love the substitution page as that is often an issue for me. I love the clarity of the shopping list. She even has a 4 week menu plan. The pictures are beautiful The recipes are easy to make as the directions are so clear. I purchased the book and the kindle edition so I can have the recipes handy when we go to our cottage.

IBS or not ... this is a great cookbook!
Full disclosure: I don't have IBS ... ... But I still love this recipe book! Dr. RP and I go waaaaaay back -- to her pre-FODMAP days. And let me tell you - she is a changed woman. What I love most about watching her go through this journey of hers is that she took a problem that was adversely affecting her life and not only turned it around, but also made it into a passion of hers. And now, she is helping people around the world with her low FODMAP easy foods (bars, shakes, etc.) and this amazing cook book! I have now tried several recipes from this book and they are fantastic! I work and have 2 young children so a recipe has to be easy, quick, and healthy. Bonus if the kids will eat it. This book gets it done: make ahead breakfast burritos for breakfast, peanut butter baked oatmeal squares for after school snack, broiled salmon with maple lemon glaze for dinner. Husband ate all the pumpkin pie energy bites in one sitting. So, don't wait - get this book and get your gut happy!
