## Description

The Exo Terra Monsoon RS400, High Pressure Rainforest System, is a programmable rainfall system suitable for all types of terrariums and greenhouses. It helps maintain optimal humidity by generating precipitation at programmed intervals. The duration and frequency of precipitation can be easily adjusted depending on the type of animal or plant housed. Frequent rainfall helps stimulate breeding behavior, and is a necessity when housing live tropical plants such as Bromeliads, orchids, or mosses. The system can be programmed to rain multiple times per 24-hour cycle, for time periods ranging from one second to two hours. The timer allows for the system to rain on demand. The large one gallon reservoir ensures continuous operation for several days without the need for refilling, and the reservoir can be easily replenished without needing to uninstall the entire system. The Exo Terra Monsoon RS400 comes with two easy-to-install nozzles, but the system can be expanded to accommodate up to six nozzles, making it ideal for multiple terrariums. The rain produced by these specially designed nozzles is extremely fine, creating a mist-like effect in the terrarium or greenhouse, and the extra long tubing makes it possible to conceal the unit in a storage area or under the terrarium in a cabinet.

    Not good

*by J***E on Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2016*

Low budget system priced way too high....Let's get to the good:*Holds quite a bit of water, so you can put in a few gallons and not fret for days*Simple set up out the boxThe Bad:*The system's controls are not very user friendly and I do not trust them, there is going to be a lot of trial and error to get the right times (I might just set it to manual and put it on a plug in timer*Terrible "misting", it's more like a rain which only is getting a certain spot. I am going to change my nozzles for better ones that are supposed to fit and can work with low pressure systems*As per my above statement, the unit claims to be "high pressure" but I am unable to find ANY information about the true PSI for this systemBasically, the system works to a degree, but is too much for system filled with problems or potential problems. Spend the extra to get the base King Mist system and you will be better off (even if it is more set up work and you still need other items to buy like the bucket.Edit: I ended up returning it back to Amazon. I just couldn't trust it and for the price I want an item that is going to be great right out of the box and last for quite some time.

Don't Trust The Built-In Timer, Buy a Separate Timer

*by K***N on Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2015*

First of all, the built-in timer never worked from the start. Never. I had read other reviews where the people had just plugged it into a separate timer, so I did just that and it has operated well for 5 months. I would not trust the built-in timer and I would keep your reptiles safe and buy a separate timer. I purchased my timer at Home Depot, and I recommend NOT getting a digital timer but getting an old school, reliable one that you have to push up the tiny pieces around the circle to determine when things shut on/off. Not high tech, but much safer than the quirky digital timers you can get. Also, the sprayers have clogged a couple of times so I have had to unscrew them and blow in them hard to clear them out. ALWAYS use just distilled water. And they still clog occasionally with distilled water. All in all, I feel that this brand of water mister is OK for the money, but be ready for just average quality and PLEASE do not trust the built-in timer on this device. Plug it into a separate timer.

This unit only recommends distilled water or RODI water but your not supposed to use that kind of water with amphibians

*by B***N on Reviewed in the United States on May 10, 2018*

This product works well (mechanically) but it specified that you must use Distilled water or (Rodi) Reverse osmosis deionized water. The problem here is that if you are keeping amphibians like salamanders and various frogs this system will saturate them constantly with the distilled water or Rodi water. This type of water will actually rob the animal of crucial electrolytes and cause death to your animal . On the other hand if you use dechlorinated tap or spring water the unit will eventually cease to function properly as the calcium or hard metals in the water will clog the units nozzles . I learned this the hard way
