It keeps my kombucha at the right temperature, and I can choose between three heat levels depending on the room temperature. I wrap a towel around it which helps to keep the heat in. I can stand my bottled kombucha in a ring around my heated jar, and they can share the heat for the second fermentation. It also looks nice with the bee theme. The cord is a nice length. It fits perfectly on a 1 gallon jar. I currently have it on a 2.5 gallon jar and it only covers 3 sides, but the velcro strap keeps it secure. It was just a tad short but I was able to add a small piece of velcro that I had on hand to legthen it a bit. It heats to about 78° to 82° temperature on the medium setting in my kitchen.
