Does this work on a Samsung S7 5g tablet?

This stylus works on the Galaxy Note series phones. It may work on your tablet, it doesn't work on my Surface tablet or the wife's Fire tablet, didn't have a Samsung tablet handy to test. Good luck.

How are you supposed to connect the pen to the Note 8?

There is a hole on the right side bottom of your "Note 8", ( right side of charger port) the pen will click in that hole..

Does this work on Samsung galaxy S21 Ultra?

Yes it does. I actually switched from using Note 8 to S21 Ultra. It works great !
