This one was thankfully wonderful, and I can't help but question how this author can still create some unique and refreshing romance novels after having created so many others already!Assuming you read the synopsis, I'll say this:- Great characters! Both are highly intelligent and display strength and confidence.- There's a realistic and slowly built romance that is convincing and exciting to see grow. Nothing overly erotic either.- The dialogue amongst all of the characters seemed fluid and acceptable. Most romances struggle with dialogue by making it cheesy, choppy and in no way authentic, especially when there's a crime/thriller or other genre added in. However, this author does a great job blending other genres into her romance!Great story, and I look forward to what Hill might be thinking of next! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Read at your own risk *by L***S on September 13, 2017* First and foremost let me say that I love Gerri Hill! I only "liked" this book though. This was a book that was lacking development of it's characters and the plot was just thrown in. This is not a love story or mystery. I guess you can call it a lystery. I don't know, I think a lot of authors are trying to write too many books instead of just one quality book! I mean, girl meets girl, then they flirt, (if that's what you call it), then sleep together. Ok, now we are dating. Just no real development of the characters. Next is the plot, which was weak at best. It is a far cry from Gerri's Killing room or the Hunter series. There was no suspicion in this book, we all knew who did it! I was just totally disappointed with this book. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Light crime/romance and a little ripper. *by P***7 on July 21, 2017* 4.5 starsThis is a little ripper from Hill.The characters are smart and capable. One is a former FBI agent and the other is a former detective. Both choose to move to a small town and join the local police force. There is a lot of flirting, and quite a bit of heat between them, which is always fun to read.There is also a crime thriller that runs through the book as well. This gives the two main characters the impetus to engage with one another, which also puts them both in some peril. Both aspects of the book are really well handled by Hill, who manages both the crime elements and the romantic elements well, and the mix is perfect.This is just a really well put together book.
