Transcend 512MB Industrial Compact Flash Card (TS512MCF200I)

I restore and play with old computers for a hobby. Bought one of these (and a CF to IDE adapter) and it works perfectly in an ancient Compaq Deskpro 5150 386. Never has Windows for Workgroups 3.11 booted so fast! It's funny say this, but using DOS with this as an SSD hard drive makes everything so fast. Your 386 will never be the same! Just make sure you buy one of these "Industrial" cards, because only they are designed to show up as a proper block device. The computer doesn't know it's any different from a regular spinning-platter hard drive.

Was using this in a CF to IDE adapter card for an old 486. At first it seemed to work OK, but after using it for about a week I realized I ran into frequent write errors (where DOS would ask to abort, retry, fail). Retries always worked (probably wrote to another part of card), but this caused all kinds of problems that broke most of the software I was trying to use. Not all software is tolerant of intermittent write failures. These are old cards, so it may just be one I received had faulty storage. But I wouldn't buy this particular one again. I'm now using the Sandisk 512mb and that's working great in the same machine.

Purchased for the IT department at our company upon their request and received no complaints.

Smaller capacity CF cards are getting harder and harder to find...but I needed one for my SnapOn Solus Pro and this one fit the bill. Worked perfectly and seems like it'll last for as long as the tool does.

Used this product for years for industrial control systems. Never had a disk failure.

Using these for cold weather data logging. Standard is less reliable. Industrial flash is more suited to this type of use and Transcend was less expensive.

I needed this item to get an old HMI program off of a Allen Bradley Panelview Standard. Worked great and will definitely keep in my tool bag!

Good product.....need this size of compact flash capacity to memorise embroidery patterns on my machine. This size of 512MB is becoming more difficult to purchase but good service from this seller

Funziona regolarmente. Non c'e' molto da dire perche non e' il dispositivo migliore per valutare le prestazioni a livello di velocità. Solo tra molti mesi o qualche anno potrò esprimere un giudizio su longevità ed affidabilità nel tempo.

necesitaba esta tarjeta, ya que el receptor GPS que tengo funciona con este tipo de tarjetas, y la original de Leica era de 512Mb, quizá las actuales de 4Gb, no sean compatibles. Es dificil encontralas en la calle. ya no quedan de esta capacidad. muy bien por amazon
