Review: Great junior loft bed for a great price - This bed is pretty awesome for the price. I originally wanted a wooden junior loft bed with drawers/storage underneath, but just couldn't bring myself to pay for one of those when this one was so much cheaper. First off, my four-year-old loves it. He loves being "tall like mommy and daddy" when he's in his bed, and he spends a ton of time in his "clubhouse" underneath. We've put a bean bag, a clip-on lamp and a toybox under there, and it's where he and my husband sit to read a book before bed every night. He can't quite stand up underneath it, but there's still plenty of room for him to play. My husband and I can both fit under there pretty comfortably, too. The bed itself is good quality. I thought the silver might look cheap, but it actually looks really nice and doesn't clash with the wooden furniture in his room. It seems sturdy enough and we haven't had any issues with squeaking or any of the pieces loosening. The rungs of the ladder do seem a bit uncomfortable to me when I'm changing the sheets, but my son hasn't had any complaints and doesn't even seem to notice. The bed is recommended for ages six and up, but as long as your kid can safely climb a ladder and won't flop himself over the rails and out of bed at night, there's really no reason it can't be used by younger children. It wasn't too difficult to put together (took about an hour), although my husband did mention that some of the steps in the instructions are in the wrong order. Considering how hard the tiny letter stickers (the ones that label all the pieces for assembly) were to get off, though, I haven't even attempted to remove it. Some Goo Gone would probably work if you really hate it and have a ton of patience. Secondly, due to the safety railings on the bed, it's almost impossible to get it made up neatly - there are always bits of sheet and comforter sticking up everywhere. (That's not so much a failure of this bed so much as loft beds in general, though, so no big deal.) My son cares about neither of these things; they're purely cosmetic issues for me. Overall, we're super happy with this bed, especially for the price, and we love the extra space it gives him underneath. **Q: Could a second mattress be put below on the floor so two could sleep here--one on the top in the loft and one below on the floor?**
A: I have a full size mattress that I plan to put underneath. With it put in at an opposite angle, so the one end of the bed is under the loft, and the other end jutting out into the room, there is still more than enough room for the ladder on the side of the full mattress. This is going to be a great answer to my two grand daughters that sleep in that room. I have a ceiling fan that would make a regular bunk bed out of the question.

**Q: How far out does the ladder stick from the bed?**
A: Approximately 13-1/2" (measured at the floor).

**Q: What is the height of under the bed bar to bottom, not the total height?**
A: Exactly 3 feet from the floor to the bottom bar on the bed.

**Q: The description states the bed will hold up to 600 lbs., but I read in the reviews that it will hold up to 225 lbs. Which weight limit is correct?**
A: I would bet money on the 225lbs. being a max, not 600.  It's for kids.  As an adult I would really be hesitant to climb up there to read my kid a bedtime story.  We'd fit, but I'd hate to risk collapsing it.  Could it support 600 lbs perfectly distributed without moving, assuming the bed was perfectly assembled and none of the bolts had worked themselves loose from many nights of a wiggly restless kid?  "It wouldn't be prudent."

The bed arrived on time, in one long thin box. It could have been carried alone but was light with help. Easy to follow assembly directions. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ assembly went smoothly and it seems nice and sturdy

We bought this for my almost 5 year old and 2 year old daughters. We are making it a low profile bunk with the bottom mattress currently just on the floor. We may add a box spring to lift it up slightly and I still think there will be plenty of head room. My oldest has slept in it the last few nights and loves it! It took my husband maybe 1 1/2 hrs to put together by himself. He only had an issue with one of the screws that wouldn’t fit in correctly as the holes were not lined up right. Other than that minor issue, assembly went smoothly and it seems nice and sturdy! It doesn’t make any squeaky noises. The ladder is a bit rough on the feet so we may try to add something to soften it up a bit if my daughter starts to complain. She doesn’t seem bothered by it right now. With the price being so low I didn’t know what to expect with the quality, but as of right now it seems great! We put the bottom mattress in an L shape to give more room for storage underneath. When my 2yr old gets a bit bigger we may purchase another one for the room because I can already see there will be a fight for the top!
