Most of the original cast has passed on and a new attempt to reboot the film series had begun. The movie bombed. The last ever Carry On and it is a poor effort.However for me it is better than England or Emmanuelle but not much.Jim Dale puts on a brave face with a few regulars in bit parts. Jack Douglas, Bernard Cribbins, June Whitfield and Leslie Phillips to name a few. Newcomers like Rik Mayall, Julian Clary, Peter Richardson, Alexei Sayle etc attempt to get on board (pun intended) and mostly fail miserably.You will soon see and miss the writing of Talbot Rothwell or Norman Hudis. This dire effort is written by Dave Freeman (Carry On Behind) and John Goldstone.It’s just not very funnyThe quality is quite honestly awful. It is grainy, not in widescreen (4.3), has no subtitles, no extras and even the cover looks like a bad photocopy.So should you buy it. Well if you want to complete your collection yes but otherwise save your money. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Bettyr than Carry On England but then what isn't> *by R***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 July 2020* One of the problems that the Carry On series has is that despite popular (ITV?) opinion the corn has gone very stale and TV comedians/ comic actors don't translate to the big screen. I will say that Sara (Philadelphia) Crow has a great figure (count the ribs) but a strange accent.The original Carry Ons were corny but the cast were veterans of FILM and capable of performing the corn dead straight. Thus it was funny.The cast here (as in "England" which I loathed) are TV trained and only too aware of the script being "funny". TV needs a different technique to film and sadly most of these never had it and even in the case of those that had like Jim Dale seem to be going through the motions.I bought this to complete my collection and replace an ex rental VHS. Watching it was a chore and showed why the VHS seemed so unworn.if you want Carry On Corn then go pre 1968. The Anglo Amalgamateds were best, the Ranks passable but the later Whoops Matron Leer Wink Ranks are ...RANK.Ah well you want it or not ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ You're all wet! *by L***! on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 May 2018* I always liked this film, I thought it was reasonably funny and a better structured "Carry on" than many of the original team's final efforts in early 70s. I think it received an unfair panning from the critics who adopted a lazy knee jerk approach whinging that the old stars weren't there - they couldn't be, they were all dead! The DVD itself however is a poor quality effort. The picture quality suggests it was transferred direct from VHS in some sort of horrible screen-fit mode?
