Does this bracket have any method to secure the unit from being pushed in?** A: No. The unit sits on the bracket without any screw or lock attachments. For security, one needs to fasten the air conditioner to the building. **Q: will my air conditioner just sit on this bracket? I don't see any tie downs on this bracket to hold my a/c onto the bracket?** A: You really do not require any tie downs for this bracket. If the A/C is installed with a slight downward slope to the outside and a window bar is placed across the top/front and inside of the window to restrain the A/C in place , it will hold effectively in place. **Q: some say it works with a normal sill - can someone show me what they mean by a 'normal sill'?** A: It’s the bottom ledge on your window, when the window is closed it makes a seal around the bottom of the window and keeps rain and snow out..The should be a track that the window rides in, open the window and adjust the bar so it fits snug in the window track then adjust the legs so their rubber coated legs are touching the outside of the house, leaving a slight slope towards the outside of the house. After you set the ac on the support bracket close the window. Spend the money on this and you'll never look back. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by A***Y on 27 May 2025* I bought this to be able to support the weight of my new 8000 BTU window air conditioner without it putting too much stress on my new Hurricane window which is made of vinyl and very heavy glass. I also wanted a way to mount it without having to drill any holes in the windows which would void the warranty. A window support bracket seemed to be the best way to accomplish this. I read the various virtues of the different products in this price range on Amazon and decided on this one. I was surprised when I opened the box and discovered that Jeacent had changed the design a bit which made it much easier to configure and install. There are now push pins in the support legs that make it really easy to find the exact place to lock them in and once you found the right position for one leg, mark the opposite side and slide that support leg to it and you're done! They do recommend using the included Hitch Pins & Clips to lock the support legs in. I did this entirely from my open window and it took me less than 10 minutes. I did use a level to make sure it provided a downward tilt to allow the A/C unit to drain. Once I put the A/C in the window, it stayed in place placing no pressure on the bottom of the window nor on the sill below.
