Want to use with power adapter.** A: It has an 18 watt rating so 18w ÷ 12v = ~1.5 amps. After setting my rectifier to 12 volts it drew 1.15 amps so you're probably safe between 1 and 1.5 amps **Q: Could I use this on my sail boat? The tanks are in a propane locker.** A: I would say no. I'm no propane expert, but I believe the mechanical relief valve on a standard BBQ style propane tank is close to 300psi (call a gas shop to be sure for your application). The holes are 5mm and 1/2 deep. But US 10/32 screws fit also. Warning the holes are about 1/8 BELOW the surface, therefore you need a couple tiny washers for spacers to flush mount it. I wouldn’t use anything under 2A continuous and less than 20V reverse bias voltage.
