I bought these in a .80 height also and the scope objective clears the barrel but sits too low for my eye to line up properly due to the height of the comb on the stock. Since the AR has a straight line barrel, action, and stock, with no drop in stock or"wrist" your eye would sit much too high to use even the 1.20 version of these. You can use a long picatinny riser to raise most rings high enough on AR but I like to use two "shorty: risers, one under each ring, to get them high enough. Saves weight and looks better. **Q: Will this work on dovetail system?** A: no they will not. they only mount to a picatinny rail mount or weaver style mounts. these are too wide for dovetail . **Q: Will this fit vortex 4x12x44mm? Other reviews seem to indicate that these are hit or miss on the quality. I think I got a decent set. I checked them as best as I could with what equipment I have. Alignment, tube diameter, squareness, etc seemed ok so I proceeded with mounting. They sit tight and solid. Going to the range in the next few dates to sight in and verify hold on 30-06 recoil. All in all not a bad set of rings for under $20. Yes they are made in China (as is a lot of stuff on the market). Monstrum seems to be filling a hole in higher scope mount options for 1 inch tubes.
