I wanted a quick read AND I wanted to know when the reading was complete. I have hearing issues---a lot of women my age do---and I can't hear the beeps on any thermometer. I even bought a forehead/ear thermometer---which I HATE. I always have to look at a chart to see what an ear/forehead reading is compared to an oral temperature; what a nuisance.This thermometer lights up after the beeps (well, I'm told it is AFTER the beeps) to let me know it is done. I can actually see that with it in my mouth. It is PERFECT. Delivery was fast. Seller followed up and was very gracious. I think anyone would be well pleased with this product. I was NOT given this product for my opinion. I bought this thermometer legitimately, hoping it was good as the promotional reviews claimed it to be.I use this thermometer to chart my BBT (basal body temp) for fertility purposes. I've been using it for a little less than a month, but so far, it has done the trick. It provides enough accuracy to be able to see a temp shift.I really like the flexible tip. The backlight is great, especially since I take my temp first thing in the morning, before I turn on the light. Taking my temp doesn't wake my husband up. I can't speak to its accuracy, since I've never compared my temp with any other thermometer, but I don't care about accuracy as much as consistency, for what I use it for.The lowdown: You push the button. The light comes on. It briefly shows you the last temp, then the light goes off. I hold it under my tongue for about 20-25 seconds. It beeps 12 TIMES, then the light turns on and it displays the temp.The only downside to this thermometer is the beeping when it's finished. 12 times is excessive. Granted, the beeps aren't super loud (loud enough to clearly hear, but not loud enough to disrupt my husband), but 3 beeps would be plenty. I could be happier with the service and would not hesitate to order from this company again. Not every single product that comes off the line works exactly the way it should, but they fixed it. Thank you!!I use this to chart my temp every morning for NFP. I liked the way it worked, except for the excessive beeping at the end, but I got past that because it does get a quicker temp than others I've tried and it lights up and saves your last temp. However, I bought it in January, and it's now failed mid-April. Even for $17, it should last much, much longer. Not sure if it's just a battery issue, but I can't get the battery out anyway, I tried.
