Felt bad that I couldn’t let my hamster out as much as she needed or wanted to because I would have to watch her in her ball and i’m too busy for that. I wanted the trac so that she could run outside her cage for as long as she wanted without me having to watch her all the time. Did the job just fine. Hamster needed to get used to not being able to run where she wants but eventually got the hang of it. I would recommend buying multiple packs so that your hamster won’t get bored running in a circle! The track itself was easy to put together. A little hard to take apart but I guess it just means it stays together well. My friends guinea pig died from a spine injury using a ball. The product page says it's not intended for Guinea pigs, ferrets or rabbbits. **Q: Will this item be big enough for a regular hamster?** A: I have a dwarf hamster, it's plenty big enough for her but I honestly don't know enough about hamsters to give you a helpful answer. My girl is only the size of my palm. I don't have to worry about if they are getting off somewhere they're not supposed to (the stairs) and such. I'll still let them roam around in a closed room, but if I'm not paying the closest attention it is helpful to just plop them on the track.
