This net was very easy to install and seems high quality. Following the directions, I stretched the middle as hard as I could. Then I stretched the middle one more time. The ball hasn't come close to sticking. The sound of a swish isn't as nice as with regular or chain nets. We have had to go back out and re attach a few. Some were cut down. Most people have complained of the ball getting stuck. This happens no matter how many times you strech them. So Permanent functioning net I don't think so. I am sure lying on the ground or in a dump it will last longer. I will not buy any more of these. At this point I had to give it 1 star otherwise this review would not go thru.
