Mammalian Anatomy: The Cat

The item is fine.
This product seems great. We only just started class and have not yet used this manual. Just know that it is not a book, it is loose leaf sheets of paper and it fits into a 1/4 inch binder. Other than that it seems very helpful. The only problem is that it took almost a month to get to me because Amazon lost my shippment, lied to me about it, said it was another company's fault, then said well we cancelled it so now you place place a whole new order. Do you have any idea how annoying and irritating this was. I needed this for class. Amazon is not a great company and I would prefer not to order anything from them again.

The pictures helped a great deal when being used for the lab portion of the class. It was just a lot of flipping through the book to find pictures of the muscles. Labeling could have been a bit better, but overall great book

Great pics
The pictures are very detailed. The one thing I did not like is that it relates or calls certain muscles by human medical terms. i am a vet tech student (soon to be vet student) and I wish it had just focused on the terms I would use versus a student going into the nursing/human medical route.

Extremely helpful!
I ordered this book as a supplement to my required books for my anatomy class in a veterinary technology program. It was extremely helpful, and I would definitely order this again! The detailed pictures and descriptions help to lay things out so they make sense, and it helped a lot both in lab and with studying. Definitely recommend this for any animal science students!

Just a bit too big
This may sound petty but my biggest complaint is that the loose-leaf pages are not 8 1/2 x 11; they're about 9 x 11. Apparently it didn't occur to the publisher that the book would be used as a guide during dissection and the owner might want to put the pages into sheet protectors.

the pictures are not worth a thousand words
This is a good beginning mammalian guide for students, although the pictures could use clarity, as at times you cannot distinguish what part of the cat you are viewing in the text. Some of the shots are up close with no orientation map, in other words for the inexperienced student, the picture may be of shoulder muscle mass, but the student cannot tell whether it is left or right, or possibly a hip for that matter, as the shots are close up and do not have any orientation to them. I was able to find better photography online, making this text not worth the money photographically speaking. However, for the beginning anatomy student, the text combined with a decent professor is useful.

SAVED THE DAY
This guide came in very handy as our cat in Anatomy & Physiology was not prepped very well, making identification of crucial arteries and veins very difficult. For the cost, I recommend, simply to assist in the identification process, should you run into the same situation which I did.
