This clamps to the existing groove found on Model 24 C,D,F,& G. **Q: What does it mean required fitting.. However, there have been a very small amount of customers that have had mentioned inconsistencies in tolerances across the many production years of the 24s or perhaps it could be our rail. PLEASE rest assured if for some reason your are not 100% happy with it - please return it to us for a refund. The underside is curved (milled) to mate with the upper barrel (contrary to what the image displays). Thanks! ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works Perfectly *by B***S on June 5, 2019* If you have problems seeing the sights on your trusty old model Savage combo gun (mine is a 22/20ga) and think that a Red Dot sight might help but you can't find a mount that will fit the grooved top barrel - then this is the product to solve your problem. It is easy to attach, it clamps into place solidly and allows mounting of a Red Dot or scope simply. As a bonus (on mine anyway) if you want to remove the scope or Red Dot, the mount can be left in place without interfering with the original sight.
