Who doesn't appreciate value? We certainly do, and if you're looking at the Louis Garneau LS-100 Shoes, you must as well. We simply can't think of any other shoes that better match technology features with price. In fact, with a BOA L4 retention system, a stiff outsole, and nearly unrivaled ventilation, we're still trying to figure out how Garneau essentially created a $350 pair of shoes for well under $300. Starting at the outsole, Garneau sought to achieve the perfect balance between strength, rigidity, and weight. Are you thinking carbon fiber? So were we. However, the LS-100 utilizes Garneau's Ergo Air II soles -- a carbon-reinforced nylon. This means that you gain both the stiff benefits of carbon fiber and the controlled flex of a nylon matrix. What does this really amount to, though? Well, coupled with the LS-100's low stack height, the Ergo Air II's composition and rigidity equate to a direct transfer of power to the pedals. Just like in frame design, the outsole has a stiffness-to-weight ratio that positively promotes an efficient carry of power with limited energy dispersion. So, in simpler terms, these outsoles make your hard efforts count in relation to speed. In terms of the aforementioned flexibility, you've surely felt berated by overly stiff outsoles at some point in your riding. The nylon matrix of the Ergo Air IIs amounts to a calculated percentage of 'give' under load. Essentially, this is minute enough that you won't notice it on climbs or hard drives, however, after 80k, your feet certainly will. Comfort without the penalty of weight is the design philosophy at work here. And speaking of weight, the LS-100 tips the scales at a lower weight than many other manufacturer's top offerings -- 255g per shoe. This is credited, in one part, to the outsole, but in our opinion, more so to the lightweight upper construction. Fantastic pair of shoes
Fantastic pair of shoes, and very good ventilation , I could not ride those if temperature is below 60F unless I use shoe covers , but once temperature started creeping up I can see the benefit. If you ride in hot area please buy the white ones , it''s not about style , it;s about keeping you core temperature as low as possible in the summer and any help is welcome

Like the look and the feel of the shoe, they easily adjust for good fit (even though I ordered a half size too big) I did notice that that Louis Garneau sizes run a little different than other manufactures, sadly it was after I got the shoes delievered. Be sure to check your shoe size verse their chart.

Weight, Durability, Power Transfer, and a Ridiculously Good Price
I own WAY TOO MANY cycling shoes (I feel like I should join Cycling Shoes Anonymous or something). I have a WIDE selection. I have really high end shoes (the Specialized shoes you see in the pro peloton all the time), and lots of stuff in between. So I originally got the Garneau's to be a "workhorse" type shoe, maybe to take out when it might rain, but for the price (and I was paying almost twice the current price being asked for these now which, I will tell you, is RIDICULOUSLY low) I did not expect too much. I liked the wire closure system and hoped for the best. Well, what I got was a pair of shoes (I now have all the colors they make) that is just a *bit* heavier than my highest end Specialized shoes---yet, they are super stiff, have excellent power transfer, and here's the kicker: I've done some long rides in my life. I regularly do the Triple Bypass ride in Colorado in July, a little 120 mile jaunt with 10,500 ft. of ascent, all between 7500 and 11,990 ft. above sea level. I've ridden a few double centuries as well. And if someone said, "OK, today you have to spend the entire day on the bike and cover more than 200 miles," there is ONE pair of shoes (OK, three, now, but all the same make and model!) I would put on: the Garneau LS-100s. I could spend all day in them without discomfort. So when you combine the weight with the stiffness with the comfort, and then factor in especially this ridiculously low price, I will have to say this is probably the best value in cycling shoes around. (I just checked my spread sheet: I have 2,600 miles logged in these shoes total as of today, and they hardly show any signs of wear. IOW, they are durable as well).

These shoes provide the perfect balance between a tight fitting shoe that may cut off circulation and a comfortable shoe that may move around too much and cause blisters. The BOA system is amazing and the two different sole inserts (hot/cold weather) is a great addition.

Very nice shoes
I love these shoes after several other pairs from other manufactures these are my shoes. The closure system is the bomb perfect every time and easy to get out of, and they breath like a champ. Very stiff sole great looking shoe.
