**Q: Think these would be ok as cake decorations?  Worried about the safety of the plastic**
A: I really can't say, I used them to stop birds nesting on my downspouts :)However, being plastic, if you washed them well beforehand and didn't leave them on the cake for hours, I don't see where much of anything could leach out into the cake.
