Pretty much all the kids need them for the higher schools. We've had them rip by November and others that don't hold enough papers. and still others that aren't easy to handle. For middle schoolers or high schoolers that need a very durable expanding folder( the kids who are tough on them), this is the best one we have ever found! And the nice part is, it stays open. Some others kinda snap back when you try to browse the pockets and that is a real pain in the butt. I hated that and threw one out due to it. This one lasted the whole year for my daughter, even stayed clean and didn't rip.
