The Original Weasel Ball, Interactive Motion Toy for Small Pets

I gotta say, I never write product reviews, and I had to write this one. I have a CRAZY jack russell - she tears through or gets bored of toys in minutes. We've had this for a couple weeks now, and she goes nuts when I turn it on. I actually caught her in my zoom camera, behind me, slinking up onto the dining room table like a little thief to steal it while I wasn't watching it. (while totally wild, she does have good manners. usually.) The little squirrel tail only lasted a day or so - it's attached to the ball with the plastic thingies they use to attach tags to clothes. so it didn't stand a chance. But the actual ball part of this is remarkably sturdy. She has smashed it into walls, drug it down the concrete sidewalk, dropped it down stairs and it keeps working. I have no idea how. I have to open it up to turn it on because the switch broke off. It's totally mangled inside, but somehow still works. This is the best dog toy I've ever purchased.

This toy was a piece of crap, total waste of money. The battery compartment was difficult to access and did not fit together well after placing the battery The “weasel” came off after a few minutes of play and it just quit working after an hour or so. Thoroughly disappointed in this purchase

Toy is lots of fun for dog. Wish the on/off button was a twist button instead of a push down button bc he keeps turning it off while playing with it. The plastic attachment (similar to what holds a price tag on clothes) came off the tail really quickly so I had to re-tie the tail onto the ball with some string. Definitely fun for the dog though

If your dog is any bigger than a pocket poodle, this thing will fall apart before your eyes in less than a minute, because the first reaction any self-respecting dog will have is to shake the "rat" until the ball halves split. There's a rubber O-ring between them, and if your dog swallows it, well..let's say you may end up making a nice contribution to your veterinary surgeon's retirement fund. My solution was to wrap the two halves together tightly with electrician's tape, and fasten the little furry rat-thing more securely to the ball with a short wire instead of the thin plastic binder it comes with. Then watch her like a hawk while she's playing with it. Other point - the little on/off button sticks out too far, so when the ball rolls or the dog mouths it, the action shuts off. Minor problem, but like I said..the key here is "supervise, supervise, supervise!". And I'm not expecting it to last very long.

I had a toy exactly like this one that I bought for my cat over 20 years ago. She had sooooo much fun with it that I decided to buy one for my 2 big dogs. I figured they would chew it up in no time but it's so much fun to watch animals play with this, I thought it would be worth it, if the ball lasted just a day. Well, I am so happy about this weazel ball! It has a switch on the outside of the ball that turns it on & off. The other ball, I had to take it apart to turn it on & off & it was so inconvenient. The middle would be going around & around while you were trying to take the battery out to turn it off! But this one is so much better. I have Pit Bull's mixes & they are having so much fun with it! It's been 6 days & they're still playing with it. They haven't torn it up either. Another plus with this toy is the fact that when it gets caught under the cabinet, it gets itself free & keeps rolling around! I don't know if this will last through ALL big dogs, but it is my 2 & they usually tear toys up right away. I recommend this for all animals.

I read all the reviews and should have listened to everyone and not purchased. There is a screw that you need to remove to add the battery. The tool to be able to do that is not included. I tried all of my screwdrivers and not one worked and wound up stripping the screw. So needless to say I couldn’t put the battery in. I rolled it across the floor and my pup loved it. He loved chasing it and he loved grabbing it. For that alone, it makes up for the 2 star rating. This toy won’t last long. He’s not an aggressive chewer by any means even though he’s an 80 lb dog. He’s very gentle with his stuffed toys and in the year I’ve had him, have never had to replace a toy or sew one up. The weasel is held together by those plastic things that hold price tags on clothes. The round ball itself seems like it’ll hold up okay enough but that weasel won’t stay attached for long especially if you have a destructive pup. It’s only $10 so I’ll keep it since my pup, Lynyrd, will get some use out of it but if your pup is a rough player, save your $

Adorable toy for dogs

The motor noise scares the cat. I even rubbed catnip on the “weasel” and while it did get him more excited, as soon as I turned it on he was not so excited. So I then took it apart very slowly, allowing him to watch. And watch very intently he did. But he just will not play with it while that motor is running. Also its path is just circles. And you have to take it apart and remove the battery in order to turn it off. And on. In order to turn it on you have to push the battery back into the compartment and close the cover. As soon as you do that, the little motor starts turning around in circles inside of the ball. You have to stop it with your fingers in order to screw on the other half of the ball. In other words, it’s a pain in the rear end to turn it on and off. It may be on the lower quality side, but my dachshund loves it. Endless hours of entertainment. The weasel ball is so cute, and provides my puppy with something new to stimulate him.

Poor quality, the plastic ball came apart instantly. The battery holder inside was held on my hot glue and broke so the battery wouldn’t stay in. My puppy immediately ripped off the weasel as it was secured by a flimsy tag of plastic. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

My small 20lb miniture poodle destroyed the weasel in seconds and was eating the fur. So I cut it off and trashed it leaving the ball to entertain him. It's too big amd hard to bite though.

The batteries won’t stay in and the ball won’t stay together. Waste of money
