The lid is 131mm (~5.25") across the top. On the underside, where the lid meets the pitcher, the lid is 122mm (~4.75") across.

Will it fit model 50161N?

I don't know. I ordered it for the center clear glass part.

I can verify it fits a Hamilton Beach blender. Outside diameter 5 - 3/16" and Inside diameter 4 - 3/4". This blender is 20 plus years old. Model#57199R Type B18 350W

what is the dimension across, at the seal contact points? 4"?

I had an older machine. It didn't fit. I discarded it.

...and had hard plastic shards. My machine was old but still worked, so I measured and this $10 part was well worth not buying a new blender. Fits perfectly. (There is not a pour opening if that is important to you. )
