Review: A beautiful and fun sports game... - I have to say that this game was fun to play right from the beginning. I had a blast playing the demo that I had to go out and buy the game. The graphics are solid and make you feel as though you are watching a real game. The way the players run, move, dribble and shoot also feels real, which makes for an altogether well rounded game. I at first thought I wouldn't enjoy Captain Your Country since you only play as one player, but I soon found that this made the experience all the more real as you qualify for the World Cup. This, also, was one of the annoying aspects of the game that I didn't like. For one, the force you to play too many qualifying games in order to get in. For Brazil I had to play 18 qualifying matches, and then of course the 7 to win, which just made it all too long. Additionally, they force you to play Friendly games that have no bearing at all, except if you forfeit the match than your player's rating goes down (the only benefit is that the friendly matches can be used to get your players score back up to First Team level; I forfeited 3 friendly matches cause I wanted to play the actual qualifying matches, and I was forced to sit out the qualifying rounds until a friendly match came along and I could play and get my score up). Additionally, another useless feature is the power option for shooting, which invariably is always way too powerful if you do anything more than a tap of the shoot button. If trophies are your thing than you'll find that they are usually glitched. I played a Captain campaign and was denied several trophies even though I achieved them. Some said it was because I used a Virtual Pro, so I played a South American Captain campaign and created a player. After playing 18 matches and 7 World Cup matches I achieved South America Qualifier, Most Hat Tricks and the Masterful Performance achievements and was denied all of them. Trophies are great for facilitating your experience through the game, but they don't make a game. This unfortunately still annoys you when you play for so long and then they don't appear, causing you to have to redo the whole campaign if you want to achieve those trophies. Minor things, but overall the game is a blast and I am a huge fan. I would definitely recommend this game to any interested in a sports videogame. 5 stars.
Review: Great game, good graphics, great atmosphere! - I have had this game now for about 3 weeks and I have to say that I love it. With the excitement of the World Cup going on, it was neat to see how Fifa tried to create the same world virtually. Graphics wise it is excellent, someone earlier complained about the graphics being 720p well so was Fifa 09 and 2010??!! You don't notice it anyway, and the closeups of the coaches are awesome as the detail is accurate to what they actually look like. Gameplay: Is just like Fifa 10. my only complaint would be that (like Fifa 10) the automatic changing of players is annoying. It wont let me pick the guy I want every time. Overall gameplay is just as good as Fifa 10. Negatives: if I had to pick any it would be the above mentioned gameplay and the price. 60 bucks is a little steep for this game. Its a great game but being that the World CUp happens every 4 years it seems alittle crazy to charge that much. Say 49.99 or 39.99 for the game would be nice. Positives: Graphics, gameplay, realness of the game and the crowd. Being able to listen to every national anthem of all the countries along with interesting statistics about the country. Overall fun game!!

### ⭐ EA: Shame on you. Cheap and Nasty Trick
*by J***R on April 29, 2010*

Listen, I've owned every single EA FIFA game since I can remember, including all of the World Cup Special edition games. I fell in love with World Cup 2002 for Xbox. These games are without a doubt insanely fun. But I'll tell you right now, I'm rather pissed of at EA sports with the South Africa version. Extremely pissed. In fact, EA blog/viral team: I know you are reading this To my point: Usually the EA WORLD CUP EDITION games are half the price. There is a simple reason: it's a periodical game. Periodical's don't have to be in depth. You don't need all 100000 leagues to please, all you need is a freaking national team from like 60 countries. There is not as much depth put into these games. It's simple, less depth = less price. This damn game, World Cup 2010 SA edition, was 56.00. I still bought it because Im addicted to soccer, online soccer and FIFA game play. Am I OK with a half ass game? of course, it's still fun. i could be usa for 300 straight hours and no get bored hoisting that world cup trophy. Am I OK with only national teams: Of course, whatever, it's fun AM I OK with no cover athletes? Of course, you put no money into this game and why should you? Is this game insanely fun: of course. WHAT I AM NOT OKAY WITH: 720p GRAPHICS ON MY 1080p PLAYSTATION 3 and 50 INCH PANASONIC 1080P TV. That's right, I had to triple check my display. Restart my PS3, why were the graphics so horrible and why was the resolution 720p???? I then realized, EA didnt make a 1080p game. Cheap ******* EA, you could literally put 30 teams in this game, with one more and I would pay 56.00 dollars for world cup fever, but to really stick it to me by making the game in 720p is completely unacceptable. For those of you who dont know? 720p is just a fancy way to say 480i. 480i is the freaking resolution of the wii when you use component cables. It's a garbage resolution and one I strictly avoided buy buying a PS3. The HDMI cord literally laughs at any game that pipes through its wire at 720p. I have a wii, i have a 360, i Have a ps3, I have a psp. i know what i'm getting and what I'm supposed to get. EA, you should be ashamed for putting such a half ass product on the market. I paid 59 bucks and got Call of Duty: Modern Warefare 2 and its in beautiful, mind boggling 1080p. That's worth 59 bucks. Your game looks like it belongs on xbox 1. I am pretty sure, you have just committed an act of Fraud, and I for one am very upset. I demand restitution. Thanks for producing this game, but no thanks for robbing me.
