I did a TON of research on adjustable beds before we decided on these. There were certain functions that we HAD to have, several that we wanted and more that would be bonus but didn't really need. We wanted a King sized bed with two independently controllable sides. We bought two of the Twin XL bases and connected them together. We opted for the Lucid mattresses as well as the covers. Both great choices. - We HAD to have control of each others side. Mostly to raise and lower the other side to reduce each others snoring. This was non negotiable and very few had this option. Lucid did. Check. - We wanted a base that was quiet. The motors on the Lucid are well known for durability and they are quiet as well. Raising and lowering the base doesn't disturb the other sleeper. Check. - We wanted a base with "wall hugging" capability in order to better reach our nightstands while the back is up. The Lucid does not have that function. We would've liked that but the other options it has outweighed this.The remotes work great and love the programable positions of the TV, Zzzz, Reading, etc quick buttons. My only complaint is the remote we have doesn't allow control of the other side. I'm not sure if there is a newer remote available or not. The app is great. The app is how you can control each others independent sides if they are snoring. It also has a "Snore Detection" function that will slightly raise and lower the base to help control snoring automatically.I can't say this enough - The customer support from Lucid was and has been incredible. What I learned in my research is that purchasing a bed from a furniture store doesn’t guarantee a better quality bed, just a higher price. After researching beds that could be purchased from Amazon, I settled with the Lucid 600 Split King with the 12 inch Hybrid mattress. I chose it based on reviews that I read and it being listed on several best adjustable bed lists. The boxes were very heavy. My daughter helped me bring the boxes into the house and assemble the bed. The split king is actually two beds side-by-side the only thing that makes them one bed is a Velcro strap put around the legs. The bed fit perfectly in my pre-existing king bed frame. It was very easy to set up, it was basically unfold, screw on legs and flip. Ea single bed was not too heavy for a small 17-year-old and a relatively weak mom to lift and turn over. This bed was up and running in no time. There was no frustration, head scratching over the directions or failure to work properly. This is the first time I’ve ever ordered mattresses that came in a box and it was really cool to open them up and watch them inflate, they went from 2 inch pancaked to 12 inch in no time. The mattress does not have springiness but also does not feel super squishy either. It is a nice combination of firmness and softness. There is a slight smell but that seems to be dissipating . All the features on the controls work as they are supposed to and my first few nights have been comfortable. I do notice that if I have the mattress in a sitting position I slide forward and my feet will hang off the end of the bed. The bed arrived quickly and in good condition.
