I find after periods of walking, the pain in my feet can almost leave me completely incapacitated and close to tears. These socks stop that problem, so well in fact I ordered a second pair. It's said they are for small/medium feet but I wear a 13W shoe and they work just fine. I do have to wear socks under them as the will 'cut' across the front of my foot if I don't. Wearing socks underneath gives me about 8 hours or so before needing to remove them from the pinching. I just came back from snowmobiling in the mountains, me wearing one pair and my wife wearing the other and we were both completely satisfied. I 'triple layered', I guess you could say, with a pair of socks, these compression socks and then a third pair over them with my hikers, and my feet were toasty warm and comfortable without any pain. My wife was just a impressed. They even help with my back pain. I'm not sure what the 'magic' is with these things but I'm sold on them. He has only worn them a few times. He says that he likes the pressure and support they provide, however, after he wears them for a little while, the elastic that grips his foot on the end of the sock leaves an indention and hurts his foot. I'm guessing that is why he doesn't wear them much. He has wide, flat feet, so someone with narrow feet may benefit. Next week, we will begin a workout out program, and he may wear them during the workout only. I'll be back then to comment on how they worked for the workout. His feet and ankles tend to bother him when working out.
