A: The tapered cap is not supposed to come off of the spray nozzle.  if you will push down on the cap a few times it will prime the pump and then the product will start coming out.

This product works great - no more itchy ears! For my use - because I use hearing aids - I found an application in each ear was too much. Now I use one pump onto a clean hard surface and apply to both ears with a Q-tip twice a day and it works perfectly. I'll never use anything else.
